Maplewood Stables, Inc. is a complete horse training, stable and sale business. Established in 1977, we are dedicated to showing champion hunters, jumpers, and hunt seat equitation at all levels throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. Our stallions Osilvis and Cartouche Z have shown extensively on the show circuit. Successes include Osilvis's win in the $50,000 Showpark Grand Prix as well as first in the $10,000 Hood River Grand Prix and second in the $30,000 Country Classic Grand Prix. Cartouche Z was third in the $30,000 Country Classic Grand Prix and won the 1.40m Speed Jumpers at Spruce Meadows in Canada. Both of these champion stallions are available to a select number of mares each year.
  Julie Winkel, the owner of Maplewood Stables, Inc., is an accomplished rider herself and is frequently asked to judge prestigious shows such as the USEF Medal Finals and World Cup Finals. Maplewood offers Julie's expertise in training champion hunters, jumpers and equestrians.
We offer a complete training program year-round, for beginning through advanced horsemanship. Our advanced riders show extensively on the "A" circuit throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, and Canada, as well as the the East Coast finals.
Our facilities are well-known for their high quality with indoor and outdoor arenas, a Grand Prix field, newly-renovated clubhouse, 24-hour security, and 150 acres of gorgeous parkland and trails for leisure riding. Please be sure to visit our Facilities page for more details and photographs.
Cartouche Z
Maplewood Stables is proud to announce our stallion, Cartouche Z, is available for breeding this season. "Ace" is our 1998 Grey Zangersheide, and had a champion record from the Indio Desert Circuit 2005.

Osilvis
Osilvis, by Silvio II out of Iregina (by Nimmerdor), is our 1996 Chocolate Palomino and is also available to a select number of mares this season. Osilvis has a great show record as well, winning the $50,000 Grand Prix of California at Showpark and the $10,000 Grand Prix in Hood River. Not only is he unbeleivably beautiful and exceptionally talented, but he is a lamb to work with.

CONGRATULATIONS
Last week's show in Sonoma, CA was a huge success! Julie set the standard by winning champion of the 3'3" Pre Green Hunter Division on Montevideo LS.
Matt Wildung took 3rd in the 1.20m jumpers on Maplewood's Cartouche Z and 6th in the 1.30m jumpers on Bailey's VH Muelenhoff.
Ali McCool and Carma had their first rounds in the Grand Prix Ring and got 3rd in the 5 y.o. Suitability Class.
As usual, Emily Brammeier and Julie Von Hennig's Cinnibon were very fast around the 1.00m and 1.05m jumper courses.
A big pat on the back goes to Conner Hinckley whose hard work and schooling paid off when Hurcules won the Adult Equitation Chamipionship, the Hudson Medal and got 2nd in the NorCal medal with Tanya Johnston, famous sports psychologist and author.
Pro days ended with fierce competition between Julie on Carma and Matt on Cartel in the 1.00m jumpers. Teacher vs. student! Brother vs. sister! And the blue ribbon goes too....Matt and Cartel! They went so fast Cartel didn't even know what hit him.
Matt carried on that competitive drive right into the $2500 1.30m Open Welcome Jumper class. 2 great rides earned him the blue ribbon and champion sash on his own Bailey's VH Muelenhoff and the 4th place ribbion on Cartouche Z. Congratulations Matt!
But of course the winning did not stop there. Karen Dearmont and Annie Up won the .95m Modified Adult Jumpers first trip out of the barn. By the end of the week they were reserve Chamipion of the division. They were also very successful in the 1.00m Low Adult Jumpers receiving two 5th place ribbons.
Leslie Haub and Cardento easily stepped up to the .90m jumpers after the first two days of .80m and .85m jumpers. Leslie received a 5th, 7th and 8th in the .80m jumpers. Two 3rd place ribbons in the .85m jumpers. And 7th and 8th awards in the .90m jumpers.
Overall it was a really fun and tremendously successful show. We rewarded our successes with a trip through wine country for wine tasting. And a beautiful dinner on the ocean with Walter and Debbie Haub and Grandma Hazel. Unfortunately it was our last show with Emily but certainly not our last time in Sonoma. Congratulations Everyone!
